Rules and Guidelines

Read carefully and contact us if you have any questions.

Learning Plans

All PianoClass learning plans include:

  • Individual lessons – live or custom-tailored recordings
  • Access to Special Activities
  • Follow-up
  • Learning material through shared platforms
  • An artist-instructor dedicated to your musical development

*Only PianoClass for Kids has pre-recorded lessons, even though it includes personalized feedback through text/audio/video.

Academic Calendar

The PianoClass Academic Calendar (click to visit) allows you to start your lessons at any time and spread breaks and extra activities throughout the year to optimize your musical learning and life experience.

The individual lessons (live or recorded) and the follow-up will happen

  • Monday – Friday: between 3:30 am – 5 pm (EST / UTC-5)
  • Saturdays: between 4 am – 7 am (EST – UTC-5)

The individual lessons are scheduled at the beginning of your learning plan. You may check them on your Google Calendar and on the link in your shared OneDrive folder.

The Special Activities are also scheduled on Google Calendar and may happen during the whole Saturday.

Punctuality

For your live lessons, call your teacher at the exact time of your lesson, not before.

For your recorded lessons, send the videos and any other relevant material way before the scheduled time for the teacher’s recording.

If you realize there may be a delay, let us know via WhatsApp as soon as possible.

The instructor will way for 10 minuts by default, and they will try to contact you through text. If there is no reply, the lesson will be considered given, and the instructor will no longer be available for the remaining time.

If you notify your instructor about the delay within the first 10min of the lesson time (check if your message was delivered and read in time), they will wait for you and will be available until the end of the scheduled time.

Safety and Privacy

We value your safety and privacy, and therefore we need to be clear about our recording policy:

Individual lessons

You are already authorized to record your lessons, and the instructor may do the same. However, these recordings are yours, and PianoClass may only use these materials after receiving your (or your legal representative’s) written authorization.

Special Activities

The videos recorded in or for the Special Activities are PianoClass’s property. Your participation in these events implies your authorization to use the images and audios on a variety of public media.

Digital Platforms

As the lessons happen through virtual media, PianoClass is not accountable for any issues related to the video call platforms, cloud services, or any other learning apps.

We suggest you have a regular backup of your files on these platforms to avoid losing any material.

Missing Lessons and Technical Problems

As soon as you realized there is a technical problem during your lesson, students and instructors must check their internet connection and the device used for the lesson (computer/tablet/smartphone) to find the cause of the problem and move on to one of the alternative options to continue the lesson.

Instructor

In case the instructor has technical problems during the lesson or needs to miss the lesson, you may choose between:

  • transferring your lesson or the remaining time of the lesson to another day/time that would work for you
  • having the lesson with another PianoClass instructor
  • having the remaining time of lesson as a recorded lesson
  • receiving a recorded lesson from our library – which will be relevant to your repertoire

Student – technical problems

If you face technical problems during your lesson, the instructor will guide you to the best of their knowledge and means to solve the issue and make the best use of your lesson’s time.

If it is impossible to proceed, the instructor will provide you with practice guidance, and the lesson will be considered given.
The instructor may also record the remainder of your lesson if you have sent videos from your practice (annual plan only) or have presented enough material before the technical problem occurs.

Student – absence

If you realize you will miss a lesson, follow the instructions in the description of your lesson on Google Calendar:
